Q2 2026 Portfolio Review & Outlook Webinar
In our latest Portfolio Review & Outlook webinar, Peter Leggett, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, was joined by Ryan Synnot, Head of Investment Management, to discuss recent market performance, portfolio positioning, and the opportunities Arrow Private Wealth is seeing ahead.
The discussion focused on a clear message for investors: while markets remain volatile, discipline and diversification continue to be essential for long-term outcomes.
Key takeaways:
Volatility is normal, not exceptional.
Markets experienced a more challenging first quarter of 2026, with sharp drawdowns in March following a strong start to the year. The team emphasised the importance of maintaining perspective and avoiding reactive decisions during periods of uncertainty.
Portfolios remain deliberately defensive.
Arrow’s portfolios entered the quarter positioned with a defensive tilt, supported by allocations such as enhanced income, infrastructure and other total return strategies. This helped provide resilience during a more volatile period.
Market weakness can create opportunity.
The Arrow Investment Committee used recent market weakness to selectively add exposure to areas where it saw attractive upside potential, including Australian small and mid-cap equities.
The team introduced global value exposure during the quarter, reflecting the view that returns may broaden beyond the large technology and AI-related names that have dominated markets in recent years.
Discipline and diversification remain key.
The webinar reinforced Arrow’s long-term approach: focus on what matters, stay diversified, and use volatility as an opportunity rather than a reason to react emotionally.
